Elon Musk Confirms Starlink Launch in Armenia

Tech entrepreneur and U.S. Department of Government Efficiency head, Elon Musk, has confirmed that Starlink, his satellite internet company, is now operational in Armenia.

Musk made the announcement on Thursday via his official X account, writing:

“Starlink now active in Armenia.”

His post was in response to a similar announcement from the official Starlink account, confirming the service’s launch in the country.

According to the company, Starlink’s presence in Armenia represents a major milestone, marking its expansion into its 130th country, territory, or market globally. The service continues to grow its footprint, aiming to provide high-speed, low-latency internet in underserved and remote areas.

Meanwhile, in a related development from March 2025, Musk stirred controversy when he claimed that Starlink was not allowed to operate in South Africa due to his non-Black identity.

The South African government, however, publicly denied the claim, stating that the restriction had nothing to do with race and was based on regulatory compliance issues.

As Starlink expands, global interest continues to grow in its potential to bridge the digital divide—especially in regions with limited traditional internet infrastructure.
