Flutterwave Wins Company of the Year at 2024 IPR Awards in London

Flutterwave is Africa’s leading payments technology company, recognized as Business of the Year at the prestigious Innovation in Payments and Remittances Awards 2024 held in London on September 17, 2024.

This award testifies to Flutterwave’s relentless drive toward excellence, innovation, and making cross-border payments seamless for all consumers and businesses alike.

IPR Awards are a recognition of excellence from the most innovative companies in the global money transfer industry, whether Money Transfer Operators, Banks, Fintechs, or Telcos.

Awards at IPR are part of its 2018 efforts aimed at encouraging participation and collaboration in the area of payments and remittances among professionals to drive sharing of experiences and best practices necessary for good change in the industry.

It called Flutterwave “Company of the Year” for its continued commitment to supporting enterprise enterprises with the Flutterwave for Business product suite and retail customers through Send App by Flutterwave-a groundbreaking innovative cross-border remittance solution.

The award recognizes Flutterwave’s forward-looking inventions that have allowed users and businesses across Africa and beyond to access frictionless remittance services, enabling millions of Africans in the diaspora to easily transact across borders.

Interim Head of Marketing, Yewande Akomolafe-Kalu said: “We’re excited to be named IPR’s “Company of the Year.” This award is especially important to us because it recognizes our innovations in the payment ecosystem and the role they play in transforming cross-border transactions.

“With a strong focus on connecting Africa to the world and the world to Africa with seamless payment solutions, we’ve continued our continental leadership as an ecosystem enabler and an innovation trendsetter,” the official added.

In 2024, Fast Company recognized Flutterwave as the most innovative company in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Recently, Flutterwave announced that it had appointed a new Chief Financial Officer named Mitesh Popat, who will lead the firm to its next phase of growth and build long-term value for the customers and payment ecosystem in Africa.
