The Naira opened the week with appreciation against the dollar at both forex markets.
The naira appreciated to N 1580.46 per dollar on Monday from N 1593.32 last Friday, data from the FMDQ indicates.
This translates to a gain of N12.86 against the dollar, compared to the closing rate of N1593.32 last week.
Also, in the parallel market, the Naira lost N15 to the dollar on Monday, selling at N1655 per dollar, compared to N1670.
This is as foreign exchange transaction turnover slumped from $245 million last week to $197.37 million on Monday.
Recall that the Central Bank of Nigeria sold $20,000 to bureau de change operators of repute at the N1580 exchange rate last week.
