The naira continued its loss into the new week by falling against the dollar at the official foreign exchange market on Monday.
According to data from FMDQ, the naira sank to N1596.60 per dollar on Monday from N1570.14 last Friday.
This represents a wide N26.46 depreciation against the dollar.
Also, the naira lost N5 to the dollar as it traded at N1,620 Monday compared to N1,615 last week.
The development follows the decline of the naira by N72.58 against the dollar in July 2024, as recorded in an FMDQ financial market report.
