Federal Government has approved the appointment of Professor Lucian Chukwu as the substantive Vice-Chancellor, Admiralty University, Ibuzor, Delta State.
The approval was disclosed in a statement issued on Saturday by Folasade Boriowo, Director of Press, Ministry of Education.
The Minister of Education’s Director of Press said the selection process for appointing a substantive Vice-Chancellor was carried out by the university’s Governing Council on February 26 and 27, 2025, at the council chamber of the university.
She added that Chukwu completed the exercise with the best mark of 83.41% among the five applicants interviewed.
“In line with the principle of merit being upheld by the Federal Government, the Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, has approved the appointment of Professor Lucian O. Chukwu as the substantive Vice-Chancellor of Admiralty University, Ibuzor.
“The appointment is for a single tenure of five years with effect from 28th February, 2025,” the statement added.
She said the minister wished the new Vice-Chancellor a successful tenure of office.
Recall that the institution was recently enmeshed in a crisis following the appointment of a new head.
