The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has acknowledged errors in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results.
Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, the Registrar of the Board, made this announcement during a press briefing in Abuja on Wednesday.
“What should have been a moment of joy has changed due to one or two errors,” Oloyede stated.
He further explained, “we set all machineries in order, regardless, there were still errors.”
This comes after JAMB admitted receiving an unusually high number of complaints about discrepancies in candidates’ scores.
The admission follows reports of underwhelming performances in the recently concluded UTME.
JAMB had previously promised that if any issues were identified, appropriate corrective measures would be taken without delay.
In the 2025 UTME, 78% of candidates scored below 200 out of the maximum 400 points.
