The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) issued a stern caution to the public regarding the unfounded rumor circulating about the demise of veteran Nollywood actor Olu Jacobs.
In a statement, AGN spokesperson Kate Henshaw emphatically affirmed Jacobs’ continued existence and urged those responsible for spreading such misinformation to desist immediately.
Expressing dismay over the recurring nature of these false reports, Henshaw took to X platform to question the rationale behind perennially declaring Olu Jacobs deceased. She criticized the practice of prematurely posting condolences and lamented its distressing impact on Jacobs and his family.
Henshaw emphasized, “It is deeply troubling how year after year, individuals propagate RIP messages about someone who is very much alive.
This constant misinformation targeting such a distinguished figure and his loved ones is unequivocally inappropriate. It must cease without delay. UNCLE OLU JACOBS is ALIVE.”
Earlier reports had erroneously claimed that the renowned Nollywood icon passed away on a Sunday. However, Jacobs’ family swiftly refuted these assertions, reaffirming his well-being amidst the swirling falsehoods.
