Grammy-winning Nigerian artist Damini Ogulu, famously known as Burna Boy, has unveiled a brand-new nickname that reflects his growing global influence.
The Afrofusion star announced his latest alias, “Jean Béna Dieudonné,” on Friday, shortly after releasing a remix collaboration with French-Haitian singer Joé Dwèt Filé.
Taking to his official X handle, Burna Boy shared the update with fans, writing:
“My name is now Jean Béna Dieudonné.”
The new nickname appears to be inspired by his recent work with Joé Dwèt Filé on the remix of the hit single ‘4 Kampé’, where Burna Boy showcases his versatility by singing partially in French.
This isn’t the first time Burna Boy has embraced new monikers as part of his artistic persona. Over the years, he has gone by several aliases, including Odogwu, Big 7, and El Major, each reflecting different phases of his musical journey.
With his evolving identity and continued global collaborations, Burna Boy solidifies his reputation as one of Africa’s most dynamic and internationally recognized music stars.
