Rahman Jago, a well-known socialite and close associate of Grammy-winning superstar Burna Boy, has confirmed that the singer has officially converted to Islam.
The conversation around Burna Boy’s faith began to swirl a few weeks ago following a podcast interview.
During the sit-down, the singer who was raised in a Christian household revealed that he had embraced Islam “at some point” as part of his personal pursuit of truth. Since then, fans and followers have been watching closely for a definitive sign of his new spiritual path.
The rumors gained fresh momentum recently when Jago shared a video on his X account.
The clip showed Burna Boy joined by a group of men in a relaxed setting, collectively praising Allah. Jago captioned the post with the powerful phrase, “Allahu Akbar.”
The video quickly caught the eye of Bashir Ahmad, a former media aide to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari.
Reposting the clip, Ahmad noted that the singer seemed genuinely happy and offered a prayer that Allah would make his new journey with Islam an easy one.
When a curious fan reached out to Ahmad to ask if the conversion was truly official, he noted that while close associates were saying so, the “African Giant” himself had yet to make a formal public announcement.
However, Rahman Jago decided to put the lingering questions to rest. Responding directly to the fan’s inquiry, Jago was clear and concise about his friend’s status.
“He converted. He is now a Muslim,” Jago wrote, providing the most direct confirmation of the singer’s new faith to date.
