Afrobeats singer and entrepreneur, Oluwatosin Ajibade, popularly known as Mr Eazi, has revealed his political aspirations for the future.
The ‘Skin Tight’ crooner, who recently tied the knot with Temi Otedola, daughter of billionaire businessman Femi Otedola, disclosed in a Snapchat video that he is seriously considering running for the presidency of an African nation.
He explained that his motivation stems from a desire to bring positive change rather than seek wealth or power.
“I have been thinking about it. I think it’s time to share it with you guys. Some of you might be from some country, specifically in Africa, and you are looking for a president; a president who is not looking for money and power but forward-thinking, young, active and can move your country better.
“So, I’m officially putting myself forward for the presidency,” he declared.
Although Nigerian by birth, Mr Eazi has strong ties to Ghana, where he pursued his studies and began his music career. He has often credited the West African country for shaping his signature Banku music sound.
In recent years, an increasing number of Nigerian celebrities have ventured into politics, taking on elective and appointive roles. Others have also expressed similar ambitions, including actress Eniola Badmus, who announced her intention to run for the Senate in April 2025.
Former Senator Ben Bruce once predicted that singer Davido could eventually become the Governor of Osun State.
