Popular social media comedian and content creator, Adesokan Emmanuel, popularly known as Shank Comics, has revealed that his father converted from Islam to Christianity because of food.
According to Shank, his father embraced Christianity after experiencing hunger as a Muslim and receiving food from a church, which influenced his decision to convert.
The skit maker made this revelation during a recent conversation with a fellow content creator in Canada. The video clip has since gone viral on social media, sparking mixed reactions.
He said: “I’m a Christian. Although I have a Muslim name, Saheed. My dad was a Muslim, but there was a time he was very hungry, and a church gave him food—then he converted to Christianity. My dad is so cheap. We were just hungry.”
Shank’s candid disclosure has drawn attention online, with many praising his honesty and others commenting on the challenges of poverty and how it can shape life decisions.
