Nigerian comedian Oluwaseyitan Aletile, widely known as Seyi Law, has expressed strong confidence in President Bola Tinubu’s ability to transform the country, asserting that no other politician could do better if Tinubu fails.
Seyi Law, who was among the public figures that openly campaigned for Tinubu during the 2023 presidential elections, maintained that despite the ongoing economic challenges and insecurity, Tinubu remains the most qualified for the job.
He argued that the opposition candidates in the election, PDP’s Atiku Abubakar and Labour Party’s Peter Obi, wouldn’t have delivered better outcomes based on their previous records, which he claimed to know well.
The comedian admitted that his political stance has cost him support from some Nigerians, including a drop in patronage for his shows, but he said he stands by his decision and has no regrets.
Speaking on the Teju Babyface podcast, Seyi Law said, “Some Nigerians hate me for supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. They don’t even support my shows anymore. You might not support me today but I will want to be 70 and 80 and I see my children enjoying the benefits of the sacrifices I have made today.
“I tell you wholeheartedly, not with any sentiment, if Bola Ahmed Tinubu cannot redirect the ship of Nigeria, no politician currently can do it. None. Not Atiku, not Peter Obi. Not with what I know about all of them.”
