Nigerian screen icon Olu Jacobs has dismissed widespread rumors of his passing in a recently released video.
Struggling with his speech, Jacobs refuted the false reports while his son, seen cutting his hair, reassured him. “Hello, dad, can you hear me? They said you died,” his son queried, to which Jacobs firmly responded, “I can hear, no, it’s a lie – I’m alive.”
The video, where Jacobs appeared frail, captured a personal moment amidst the erroneous claims. His son, in a protective tone, affirmed they would attend an event together, challenging those spreading misinformation.
Reports of Jacobs’ demise had circulated widely, prompting swift denials from his family and the Actors Guild of Nigeria.
This is not the first time Olu Jacobs has been falsely reported dead, with similar incidents occurring in recent years.
