Nigerian artist Paul Okoye, also known as RudeBoy of Psquare, has blamed his twin brother, Peter, for being responsible for their older brother, Jude’s court case.
During the hearing of Jude’s application for bail on Friday, Paul promised to ensure Jude’s freedom, stating he is battling for the truth.
Jude, a former manager of the defunct rock music band P-Square, was arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on the laundering of ₦1.38 billion, $1 million, and £34,537.59.
Jude and his company, Northside Music Ltd, were arraigned on Wednesday before Justice Alexander Owoeye of the Federal High Court in Lagos on seven counts. He pleaded “not guilty” to all the charges.
During Wednesday’s hearing in the court, the state, represented by Larry Peters Aso, made an application asking Jude to be committed to a correctional facility for trial.
The defendant’s counsel, Inibehe Effiong, filed a motion for bail asking Jude to be detained in EFCC custody until hearing.
Cable Lifestyle says Jude Okoye’s bail application in respect to money laundering charges was heard at a federal high court in Ikoyi, Lagos, on Friday.
Paul told the court he will never leave his older brother behind because he believes in the truth, as he said, “I’m supporting him because I know the truth.”.
“The truth is, Peter is the one putting Jude through these things. It’s Peter who is doing these. He is putting him in prison and I’m here to bring him out.
“I’m only standing for the truth because the same crime that they accused him of doing, then Peter is guilty, Paul is also guilty too.”
