Doyinsola Anuoluwapo David, also known as Doyin, a Big Brother Naija reality star, has stated that she has only heard about the country’s hardships and has not really experienced them.
She said that she does not know the prices of things and that her domestic staff shops for her.
Doyin appeared in a recent audio conversation with YouTuber Olufemi Daniel.
“I’m the most detached Nigerian you’ll ever meet. I’m not even sure what’s occurring. I’m not sure how much anything costs. I do not go to the market. “I send my chef, and they don’t tell me what the price is,” she explained.
“I hear there is suffering in the country, and I sympathise with Nigerians. I’m sure it’s challenging. I know since wigs cost more. Makeup, nails, vehicles, and houses are all more expensive. Those are the things I know. But I don’t particularly like tomatoes. I am sure food is pricey.
“It’s awful because people are suffering, and I’m sure we see it on social media. I also went to the market in Ogba and cried because I witnessed how people were suffering. People were reacting as if N50,000 was N5 million. That demonstrates how severely people are suffering.
“It’s quite sad. We hope that one day our country will be able to provide for the typical Nigerian.
“Those should be the essentials. But we’re not there yet. I hope we get there someday. I don’t want to discuss politics because I don’t know much about them.
“I just think Nigeria is a shithole under this administration. The problem is that those who are supposed to care about us don’t care.
“I’m not sure there will be a solution anytime soon. So I encourage people, “Do your best to support yourself and your family, and if you have the opportunity to relocate abroad, do it.”
