Portable Faces Jail Time After Failing Bail Conditions

Controversial musician, Okikiola Badmus, popularly known as Portable, has been sent to the Oke Kura Correctional Centre in Ilorin, Kwara State, after failing to meet the strict bail conditions set by an Upper Area Court in the state.

The singer appeared in court on Monday to respond to charges of defamation of character filed against him by the renowned Fuji artist Akorede Saheed, also known as Saheed Osupa.

Portable, famous for his hit song ‘zazoo-zeh,’ was ordered to post bail of N1 million, along with additional tough conditions. These included presenting two sureties, each responsible for the same amount.

One surety must be a senior member of the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (PMAN), either the Chairman or Secretary, while the second must be a property owner within a Government Reserved Area in Ilorin, with a valid Certificate of Occupancy.
