Nigerian afrobeats star Rema has arrived in India to perform at the wedding of Anant Ambani, son of Mukesh Ambani, Asia’s richest man, and Radhika Merchant, daughter of pharmaceutical tycoons Viren and Shaila Merchant.
On Thursday night, Rema shared a video on Instagram, showing himself in an all-black outfit walking towards a private chartered plane. He played his track ‘Azaman’ from his recent album ‘He Is’ in the background and added an Indian tricolour emoji.
According to Hindustan Times, Rema is set to perform his global hit song ‘Calm Down’ at the event for a fee of $3 million. Canadian singer Justin Bieber was also reportedly paid $10 million for his performance, while pop star Rihanna also graced the occasion with her undisclosed fee.
The wedding of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant is scheduled for July 12 at the Jio World Centre in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Centre (BKC). This event concludes a series of lavish parties hosted by the Ambani family since March.
Among the distinguished guests expected to attend are Kim Kardashian, former UK Prime Ministers Boris Johnson and Tony Blair, former US Secretary of State John Kerry, former Swedish Prime Minister Carl Bildt, former Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper, and other notable figures.
