Tyla Slams Bullying of Miss SA Contestant

South African singer and songwriter Tyla, has criticized the bullying of Chidimma Vanessa Onwe Adetshina, a Miss South Africa contestant who withdrew from the event after facing questions about her nationality.

Adetshina, a model of Nigerian and Mozambican descent, sparked a nationality controversy in July when she advanced to the round of 16 of the Miss South Africa beauty pageant.

She recently withdrew from the competition, despite being a Top 11 Finalist, because the South African Department of Home Affairs accused her mother of fraud and identity theft.

Tyla responded by expressing her disappointment at Adetshina’s harsh treatment. She said that the model had been bullied out of the competition.

Tyla shared a story on Adetshina’s withdrawal from the tournament on X, writing: “Disappointed that this occurred to her, but wish you all the best, girl. “Kill it!”

“I will always support South Africa, regardless of opinions. She was bullied, and it is not something I stand for.”

Meanwhile, Miss Universe Nigeria has asked Chidimma Adetshina to participate in the tournament. However, she has yet to respond to the invitation.
