Nigerian Army personnel have apprehended three individuals believed to be funneling supplies to the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) within the Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State.
The update came to light through a post shared on X on Tuesday by security expert Zagazola Makama, who referenced information from military insiders.
According to the details provided, the operation was executed by units serving under Operation Savannah Shield around 7:35 am on March 15 at a Forward Operating Base located in Kaiama.
Military sources noted that the crackdown began when troops picked up an initial suspect who was allegedly preparing to deliver three motorcycles to a militant cell.
A deeper dive into the situation resulted in the capture of two additional men, suspected to be affiliates of ISWAP/Boko Haram, who had reportedly traveled to the location specifically to collect the bikes.
It is believed the group intended to transport the motorcycles to insurgents active in Nuku village.
All three men are currently being held in military detention, with active investigations looking into the depth of their operations and their connections to broader terrorist networks.
