A Magistrate Court sitting in Ado-Ekiti has ordered the remand of a 35-year-old man, Ahmed Tijani, at the correctional facility over allegations of burglary and stealing.
The prosecutor, ASP Yomi Osuolale, informed the court that there is probable cause to remand the defendant, who is reasonably suspected of committing the offences against Odin Oluwatosin, Obayemi Feranmi, Dada Emmanuel Ibukunoluwa, Babatope Goodness, Odianoween Blessing, Bayesewa Glory and others.
According to the prosecutor, the alleged offences are punishable under Sections 322(a) and (c), and 302(1)(a) of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State, 2021.
He explained that the incident reportedly occurred on February 10, 2026, at about 3:30 a.m. within the Oye-Ekiti Magisterial District.
ASP Osuolale told the court that further investigation is ongoing and that the case file has been forwarded to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for legal advice. He therefore urged the court to approve the remand application.
In his ruling, the Magistrate, O. F. Bamidele, ordered that the defendant be remanded in custody pending legal advice from the DPP.
The case was subsequently adjourned until March 25, 2026, for mention.
