Suspected gunmen have reportedly shot and abducted a council secretary, Joseph Aladesuyi, along with two other individuals in Ilu-Abo, within the Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State.

Eyewitnesses said Aladesuyi, who serves as secretary of the Okeluju Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in the state, was kidnapped alongside two others during the incident.

Aladesuyi, who also operates as the Chief Executive Officer of a commercial farm, was reportedly heading to his farm with his daughter when the gunmen suddenly attacked and opened fire on them.

Community sources disclosed that the attackers, believed to be about 10 in number, fired at the businessman before forcefully taking him away to an unknown destination, leaving residents shocked and confused.

The condition of Aladesuyi remained uncertain at the time of filing this report, while his daughter was reportedly left behind by the abductors.

The incident has since sparked fear and tension across the community, with many residents voicing concerns over the deteriorating security situation in the area.

In reaction to the development, several parents were said to have rushed to schools to withdraw their children amid fears of possible further attacks.
