Ondo Police Nab Six Impostor Pastors Defrauding Public

Operatives of the Ondo State Police Command have apprehended six individuals pretending to be pastors to defraud unsuspecting members of the public with fake miracles.

The suspects, named Fadahunsi, Kolade, Tijani, Iyanuoluwa, Arijesulola, and Ademola, were arrested in Idanre, the headquarters of Idanre Local Council Area, where they carried out their fraudulent activities.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, Abayomi Jimoh, the command’s tactical teams, working alongside Community Safety Officers (CSOs), arrested the suspects following a coordinated, intelligence-led operation.

The police spokesperson explained that the suspects exploited the faith, emotions, and vulnerabilities of their victims through their scheme.

Jimoh added that the group deceived victims by promising divine solutions to financial problems, health issues, and other personal challenges.

He said, “It was gathered that the suspects operated in a coordinated manner, assigning specific roles to members of the group to create a convincing and structured facade of legitimacy.

“Further investigation is ongoing to ascertain the total number of victims, determine the financial magnitude of the fraud, and identify other collaborators who may still be at large.”
