Passengers Escape as Lagos BRT Bus Erupts in Flames

Passengers on a Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) vehicle narrowly escaped tragedy on Tuesday when their bus caught fire while moving across the Mile 12 Bridge on Ikorodu Road.

Eyewitnesses reported that the incident occurred mid-morning, with the high-capacity bus suddenly erupting in flames during the journey.

Passengers quickly disembarked and moved to safety before the fire could spread further.

Emergency teams from the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, along with other first responders, promptly arrived and successfully extinguished the blaze.

The burnt vehicle was later removed from the bridge to relieve traffic congestion in the area.

As of the time of reporting, the cause of the fire remains unknown, and thankfully, no injuries or fatalities were recorded.
