The Plateau State Police Command has apprehended Babangida Buba, also known as Babawo, a notorious kidnap kingpin who had been evading authorities.
Buba was arrested by officers of the Investigation and Response Team (IRT) attached to the command.
During questioning, Buba admitted to his crimes and disclosed that he sold one of their operational AK47 rifles to Muhammadu Isiyaku, also known as Mamman, from Pankshin LGA.
Mamman has also been taken into custody, with multiple firearms and ammunition recovered.
Commissioner of Police, CP Bassey Ewah, cautioned criminals against causing disorder, stating, “The Command is ready and well equipped to deal with them decisively.”
The Police Chief urged the public to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activities, sharing emergency contact numbers. “See something, say something,” he advised.
The suspects are set to face prosecution alongside others already charged.
