The All Progressives Congress (APC) Director of Publicity, Bala Ibrahim, has responded to claims made by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar that some members of the APC, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and Labour Party (LP) are involved in his coalition.
Ibrahim dismissed the notion, saying Atiku is being misled to believe that any APC member would join his coalition.
Atiku made the claim during a meeting in Abuja with a group of stakeholders from the Kogi East Senatorial Zone, which was led by former Kogi State Deputy Governor Simon Achuba.
It’s worth recalling that the former PDP presidential candidate recently unveiled a coalition aimed at taking power from President Bola Tinubu in 2027.
At a press conference announcing this coalition, former LP presidential candidate Peter Obi, ex-presidential running mate Tanko Yunusa, and former Kaduna Governor Nasir El-Rufai were all in attendance.
Despite these developments, Ibrahim firmly stated that no APC members are part of the effort to unseat Tinubu in 2027.
Speaking to journalists in Abuja, he emphasized that the party remains focused and unfazed by Atiku’s political moves.
He said: “Atiku is being deceived. The APC is not involved in any such coalition. As a party, we are focused, growing stronger daily, and not bothered by his political theatrics.
“If any APC member is speaking with him, they’re probably stringing him along, as has happened repeatedly in the past.
“Each time he engages in coalitions, he ends up losing. That’s the pattern.”
