The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced a significant update to its political calendar, extending the deadlines for the purchase and submission of forms for its highly anticipated Zonal Congresses and National Convention.
The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, released a statement on Tuesday explaining that the window for form submission has been widened to give members and stakeholders more time to prepare for the upcoming internal elections.
Under the new schedule, the purchase and submission of forms will now run from March 12, 2026, through March 23, 2026. This extension is designed to ensure that all interested participants have a fair chance to complete their documentation.
In the statement, Morka clarified the intent behind the move: “The APC wishes to inform all members, stakeholders and the general public that the Party has approved an extension of the dates for the purchase and submission of forms for the upcoming Zonal Congress and National Convention.”
Importantly, the party noted that while the submission window has shifted, the actual dates for the main events remain unchanged. This ensures that the momentum toward the national gathering stays on track.
“The Party wishes to clarify that this adjustment does not affect the previously scheduled dates for the conduct of the Zonal Congress and the National Convention.
The Zonal Congress will hold on March 25, 2026, while the National Convention will take place from March 26 to March 27, 2026, as earlier announced,” the statement continued.
In addition to the deadline shift, the party also revealed a change of scenery for one of its key regional meetings. The South-South Zonal Congress, which was previously slated for a different location, has now been moved to Asaba, the Delta State capital.
Morka confirmed that the party has been proactive in its communication with electoral authorities to remain in full compliance with national regulations. “Official notice of these changes in the schedule of activities has been duly given to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as required by law,” he noted.
The APC leadership is now calling on all members to act swiftly within this new timeframe to ensure a smooth and successful convention season. “Our great Party urges all members and stakeholders to take note of these updates and make necessary adjustments,” Morka concluded.
