Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has expressed profound sadness regarding the recent killings of hunters in Edo State and called for an urgent, comprehensive investigation into the matter.
In a statement shared on his official Facebook page, Atiku offered condolences to the families of the victims and underscored the importance of justice.
He strongly condemned acts of jungle justice and emphasized the necessity of safeguarding innocent lives.
“This unfortunate incident demands a thorough, transparent, and impartial investigation to uncover and ensure that those responsible are brought to book,” he stated.
Atiku appealed to law enforcement agencies to take swift and decisive action to prevent similar incidents from recurring.
He further highlighted that justice must be both delivered and publicly recognized to rebuild confidence in Nigeria’s security institutions.
His comments come amid widespread outrage among Northerners over graphic footage depicting the brutal killings of 16 hunters who were traveling to Kano for Eid celebrations.
