n a decisive operation, the Benue State Police Command’s elite squad, Operation Zenda, neutralized two notorious bandits in the Katsina-Ala Local Government Area. The command’s statement revealed that the operation took place at a concealed hideout in Tse Uza, Mbatyula Council Ward.
Upon reaching the camp, the operatives faced fierce resistance, resulting in a gunfight. During the encounter, two bandits sustained critical gunshot injuries and were later pronounced dead by a medical professional. Their bodies have been transported to the General Hospital in Ukum. Other suspects managed to flee the scene.
A significant cache of items was recovered from the bandits, including two pistols loaded with ammunition, three locally made short guns, 13 motorcycles, camouflage uniforms, six walkie-talkies, one Toyota Corolla, and a tricycle.
The Sankera axis, encompassing Logo, Katsina-Ala, and Ukum local government areas, remains a hotspot for criminal activities in Benue State. This operation marks a significant stride in curbing the region’s rampant criminality.
