There was chaos in the Ota-Ona area of Ikorodu, Lagos State on Tuesday after an uncompleted two-storey building suddenly gave way, sparking fears that several people might be buried under the wreckage.
The building, according to eyewitnesses, is situated directly opposite the Mobil Filling Station (formerly Bugon Filling Station).
So far, five victims have reportedly been rescued alive as of the time this report was compiled, though the total number of those possibly still under the rubble remains unclear.
Meanwhile, rescue operations are said to be ongoing, with emergency responders combing through the remains of the structure.
As at press time, the cause of the collapse is yet to be officially determined.
