At least four United States soldiers have been killed in retaliatory strikes carried out by Iran.
The development was confirmed by the US Central Command (CENTCOM) in a statement shared on its official X account on Monday.
The US military said the identities of the fallen service members will remain undisclosed until their families have been formally notified.
CENTCOM explained that four troops were confirmed killed in action, noting that the fourth soldier, who had sustained severe injuries during the initial Iranian strikes, later died from those wounds.
“Major combat operations are ongoing, and we will withhold names for 24 hours post notification of families,” the statement added.
Meanwhile, Donald Trump has pledged to respond to the deaths of American personnel following the joint US-Israeli operations targeting Iran.
