Delta Police Arrest 2 for Armed Robbery, Cultism

The Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Olufemi Abaniwonda, has confirmed the arrest of two individuals suspected to be involved in armed robbery and cultism.

The arrest was carried out by operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) stationed along the Asaba-Benin Expressway.

In a statement issued to Our Correspondent in Warri, CP Abaniwonda provided details about the suspects, identifying them as Blessing Ngbajime, aged 49, and Okpako Oghenovo, aged 27.

He revealed that the suspects were taken into custody on “15/05/25 at about 0630hrs.”

The police commissioner also reported that the officers recovered a “Fabricated Beretta pistol” from the suspects during the arrest.

According to CP Abaniwonda, “On 15/05/25 at about 0630hrs, operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), while on stop and search along the Asaba-Benin Expressway, flagged down a Jetta vehicle with reg no: ASB18BH with two male occupants named: Blessing Ngbajime, age 49 years, and Okpako Oghenovo, age 27 years.

“Upon search of the vehicle and the occupants, One Fabricated Beretta pistol was recovered from Okpako Oghenovo.”

He further stated that, “Investigation is in progress, and the apprehended suspects are undergoing profiling and interrogation.”
