Delta Police Arrest Suspected Interstate Kidnapper

Delta State Police Command has apprehended a suspected member of an interstate kidnap gang terrorizing Delta, Rivers, Imo, and Enugu States.

SP Bright Edafe, the command’s spokesperson, disclosed on Monday in Warri that operatives of the CP Special Assignment Team (CP-SAT) arrested the 30-year-old suspect on May 20.

According to Edafe, the suspect coordinates the gang’s activities along the Ughelli-Ozoro axis and resides in the Woji area of Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

Upon interrogation, the suspect led police operatives to a forest in Ozoro where assorted weapons belonging to the gang were recovered. Items seized include two AK-47 rifles, 32 rounds of live ammunition, and four rifle magazines.

“This arrest builds on earlier operations that led to the apprehension of three other gang members and the recovery of dangerous weapons,” Edafe stated.

The police continue their efforts to dismantle the syndicate and restore peace in the affected regions.
