Delta Police Recover Firearms in Asaba

It was gathered that the Police Undercover Surveillance Team from “B” Division, Asaba, found three locally made cut-to-size firearms, one pump action gun, and three live cartridges in a vehicle abandoned by some fleeing suspects.

Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Olufemi Abaniwonda, made the disclosure while reeling out his achievements.

According to him, the incident occurred on 4/9/2024.

CP Abaniwonda said, “On 4/9/2024, a police undercover surveillance squad attached to ‘B’ division Asaba, while on undercover patrol duty along Okwe road, Oko Market Asaba, saw a Toyota Avalon with registration number JJT 253 AJ.

“When the suspects saw the police, they abandoned the vehicle and ran away. Three locally-made cut-to-size firearms, one pump action gun, and three live cartridges were recovered during the search of the vehicle.

He said an investigation was still going on.
