Eid-el-Fitr: NSCDC Deploys 2,800 Operatives Across Kwara

In preparation for the 2025 Eid-el-Fitr festivities, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Kwara State has announced the deployment of 2,800 operatives to maintain peace and security throughout the state.

According to a statement released on Thursday by the command’s spokesperson, Ayoola Michael Shola, the move aims to “provide security for the forthcoming Eidel-Fitr celebration to mark the end of the 2025 Muslim holy month of Ramadan.”

Dr. Umar Mohammed, Commandant of the Kwara State Command, confirmed that officers have been positioned strategically in all 16 Local Government Areas, with heightened presence in areas identified as “black spots, flash points, vulnerable locations, and areas prone to criminal activities.”

To further strengthen security measures, “specialized tactical teams and intelligence operatives have been mobilized to conduct surveillance, deter criminal activities and respond swiftly to emergencies.”

In addition, the statement noted that “Area Commanders and Divisional Officers have been directed to intensify patrols and enhance operational effectiveness throughout the festive period.”

While extending festive greetings to the Muslim community, Commandant Umar urged residents to stay vigilant and support security agencies by promptly reporting suspicious behavior. He also issued a warning to troublemakers, stressing that “the NSCDC is fully prepared to enforce the law and ensure a hitch-free celebration.”
