Elon Musk’s DOGE Uncovers Massive Unemployment Fraud

A new report from the Elon Musk-led Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has revealed that California, New York, and Massachusetts were responsible for the majority of improper unemployment claims in the United States.

In a statement released Thursday on X, DOGE disclosed the extent of the fraudulent claims, which have significantly impacted federal unemployment programs since 2000.

The agency noted that the three states were linked to the bulk of these claims, with a staggering total of $305 million in unemployment benefits paid out.

“California, New York, and Massachusetts accounted for most of these improper claims, totalling $305M in unemployment benefits.

“Additionally, California accounted for 68% of the unemployment benefits paid to parolees identified by CBP on the terrorist watchlist or with criminal records,” DOGE stated.

According to DOGE, California alone made up 68 percent of the unemployment payouts received by individuals on parole flagged by U.S. Customs and Border Protection as either terrorists or having criminal histories.

The Department of Government Efficiency has been actively reviewing and auditing federal agencies and spending since its establishment during former President Donald Trump’s second term in office, with the aim of cutting waste and improving accountability.

On Thursday, Trump reaffirmed his support for the initiative, saying he had no intention of stepping away from DOGE anytime soon.
