An explosion hit the Trans-Niger Pipeline in Bodo, Rivers State, Gokana Local Government Area.
The blast happened late Monday night along the Bodo-Bonny Road, where it was under construction.
The section of the huge pipeline affected is at the moment on fire, and the specific cause of the explosion has not been determined as yet.
It was not clear whether the accident was caused by human action, particularly given the previous terror groups’ threats to bomb oil installations in the state.
