The Minister of Finance, Wale Edun, has said Nigerians should appreciate the country’s growing capacity to refine crude oil into petrochemicals and petroleum products.
Edun made the remark on Wednesday while speaking on the state of Nigeria’s economy during an interview on Politics Today, a programme aired on Channels Television.
According to the minister, the resilience currently being observed in the Nigerian economy is largely supported by private sector investments in the country’s refining sector.
“I think we should be thankful at this time for the capacity we have in Nigeria to refine crude into petrochemicals and petroleum products.
“America is now rushing to open another refinery,” the minister said.
