Four individuals, including three children, have lost their lives following a suspected case of food poisoning in Katsina State.
The incident was made public by counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama, who shared the details in a post on his X handle on Thursday.
According to Makama, the tragic event took place in the Kaga Hassan Quarters of Magama Jibia area. Police sources confirmed the deaths, identifying the victims as Hussaina Ayuba, Ahmed Ayuba, and Nana Ayuba.
Reports indicate that the victims died while receiving treatment at the Jibia General Hospital after allegedly consuming contaminated food.
“A fourth victim, Hafsat Ayuba, 12, is currently recuperating and still under medical care.
“The sources disclosed that a 20-year-old woman, Fatima Abdulkadir, who prepared the spaghetti noodles allegedly consumed by the victims, along with two others, have been arrested in connection with the incident,” Makama added.
“The scene of the incident was visited by security personnel while those who died were released to their relatives for burial according to Islamic rites.”
