The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Kano has urged motorists and residents to remain cautious and patient as reconstruction and rehabilitation works continue along the Kano–Zaria Road corridor.
The advice was contained in a statement released by the Command’s Public Education Officer, CRC Abdullahi Labaran, on behalf of the Sector Commander.
According to the statement, the ongoing road rehabilitation covers the section from Karfi to the Naibawa Flyover, a development that is expected to temporarily affect the smooth movement of traffic along the busy route.
The Kano Sector Commander of the FRSC, CC Idris Mohammed Lawal, called on motorists using the road to stay calm and cooperate while driving through the construction zones.
He warned drivers against indiscriminate parking and other behaviours that could block the road and worsen traffic congestion along the corridor.
“Motorists are advised to remain patient while passing through the construction zone and avoid any activity that could hinder the free movement of vehicles,” he said.
Lawal also stressed the importance of motorists strictly following traffic rules, maintaining proper lane discipline, and obeying instructions from traffic control personnel stationed along the road.
“Drivers should adhere strictly to all traffic rules, maintain lane discipline, and obey directives from traffic control officials stationed along the road to ensure safety and orderly traffic movement,” he added.
The sector commander explained that the FRSC is working closely with other security agencies and the construction company responsible for the project to properly manage traffic and minimise inconvenience for road users during the rehabilitation period.
He also encouraged members of the public to quickly report any road blockage or traffic-related emergency to the FRSC so that authorities can respond promptly and provide assistance.
