Full List: New Lagos BRT and Regulated Bus Fares

The Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) has officially released the updated fare schedule for the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) and regulated bus systems, following the price review announced on Monday, February 23, 2026.

While the new price structure was unveiled this Tuesday, commuters have a few days to prepare, as the changes are set to take effect starting Monday, March 2, 2026.

The decision to adjust prices was approved by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu after transport operators voiced serious concerns about the surging costs of keeping their fleets on the road. The operators highlighted that without this intervention, the quality and frequency of bus services would be at risk.

Government officials explained that the move is designed to ease the intense economic pressure on public transport providers. This review also aligns with the state’s pre-existing commitment to an annual evaluation of transport costs to ensure the system remains functional and reliable.

LAMATA noted that Bus Operating Companies (BOCs) have been struggling with a sharp rise in essential expenses, ranging from technical vehicle maintenance and expensive spare parts to meeting staff salary obligations.

“In a bid to maintain and improve service standards, operators are also investing in the procurement of new cleaner, and more fuel-efficient buses to enhance passenger comfort and promote environmental sustainability,” the statement noted.

To help residents plan their weekly commutes, the updated fares for the various routes across the state are listed below:
