The Chairman of Southern Governors’ Forum and Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun has sent words of sympathy to his counterpart in Borno State, Prof. Babagana Zulum and the people of the state, following the flood that recently swept through Maiduguri, the state capital.
The Governor said in a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Strategy, Hon. Kayode Akinmade, that the devastating flood has given rise to a critical humanitarian situation in the state that demands immediate support from all well-meaning Nigerians.
He added, “While natural disasters of that nature were inevitable, the prompt response like that of the government of Borno and the Federal Government would go a long way to ameliorate the situation and bring about immediate relief for the people.”
I mourn with my brother, Prof. Babagana Zulum, and the people of Borno State, having been acquainted with the devastating flood that has resulted in a huge humanitarian crisis.
“The Government and the people of Ogun State are with Borno on this period of agony and we shall continue to pray for them,” the statement read.
