Ilhan Omar Condemns Trump’s Strikes on Iran as Illegal

Rep. Ilhan Omar condemned Donald Trump’s actions in Iran, describing them as both illegal and unjustified.

She criticized the president for pulling the US toward conflict without congressional approval, lacking a clear strategy, and facing no direct threat.

“This is a reckless use of power that endangers both civilians and American soldiers in a conflict people don’t want,” Omar said on her X handle.

Drawing on her own experience surviving war, she added, “Bombs do not bring peace or stability. Military strikes make us less safe and increase chaos. Ignoring diplomacy leads only to destruction.”

Omar highlighted the toll on civilians and young service members.
“Children and families are already paying with their lives. There is no reason, morally or strategically for this bloodshed,” she said.

She called on Congress to act, stating: “Americans are tired of endless wars. Congress must use its power and vote on the War Powers resolution by Reps Ro Khanna and Thomas Massie. This unlawful war must stop now.”
