Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi on Wednesday accused Donald Trump of betraying both diplomacy and the American people by bombing the negotiating table during ongoing nuclear discussions.
Araghchi made the allegation in a post shared on X on Wednesday.
“When complex nuclear negotiations are treated like a real estate transaction, and when big lies cloud realities, unrealistic expectations can never be met.
“The outcome? Bombing the negotiation table out of spite. Mr. Trump betrayed diplomacy and Americans who elected him,” he said.
His remarks come after joint strikes carried out by the United States and Israel on Tehran and several other Iranian cities beginning Saturday morning, which reportedly led to the death of Ali Khamenei, members of his family, senior military commanders, and civilians.
Iran responded with multiple waves of missile and drone attacks aimed at Israeli territory and U.S. military assets across the region.
The hostilities occurred shortly after three rounds of indirect nuclear negotiations between Iran and the United States, with a fourth round of talks already scheduled.
