The United States Embassy in Kuwait has temporarily shut down operations “until further notice” as tensions continue to intensify across the Middle East.
In a formal security alert released on Tuesday, the embassy announced the closure and confirmed that all previously scheduled appointments have been canceled.
“Security Alert: U.S. Embassy Kuwait Closure.
“Due to ongoing regional tensions, the U.S. Embassy in Kuwait will be closed until further notice.
“We have canceled all regular and emergency consular appointments. We will communicate when the embassy returns to normal operations,” the notice read.
While officials did not provide a clear timeline for when activities will resume, they stated that further updates will be shared as developments unfold.
Meanwhile, U.S. military sources reported that six American troops lost their lives in recent incidents within Kuwait.
Additionally, three U.S. fighter jets went down in what authorities described as an “apparent friendly fire incident.”
