President of the United States, Donald Trump, announced that Iran has lost its entire military leadership amid ongoing strikes by the US and Israel.
Iranian media confirmed the death of Ali Khamenei’s close family members, including his daughter, grandchild, son-in-law, and daughter-in-law, during the attacks.
The Israel Defense Forces reported that several top Iranian officials were also killed, including Ali Shamkhani, a senior advisor to Khamenei, and General Mohammad Pakpour, head of the Revolutionary Guards.
In a post on X, the Israeli army detailed the officials eliminated: Aziz Nasirzadeh, Minister of Defence and Armed Forces Logistics; Mohammad Shirazi, Chief of Military Bureau of the Supreme Leader; Ali Samkhani, Supreme Leader’s Advisor for Security Affairs and Secretary of the Defense Council; Hossein Jabal Amelian, Chairman of the SPND; Mohammad Pakpour, Chief of the IRGC; Reza Mozafari-Nia, former SPND chairman; Salah Asadi, Head of Intelligence of Khatem Alanbieh Command; and Abdolrahim Mousavi, Iranian Chief of Staff of the armed forces.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, Trump suggested the conflict could last “about four weeks.”
He added: “An Iranian government that has long-range missiles and nuclear weapons would be a great danger to every American.”
“We can’t let a country that builds terrorist groups have weapons strong enough to force the world to follow their bad plans. That’s not going to happen.”
Trump further stated that Iran’s “whole military leadership is gone” and claimed that “a lot of them want to surrender.”
“They want immunity. They’re calling by the thousands.”
