Kano Gov Abba Yusuf Accepts Resignation of Security Commissioner

Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State has officially accepted the resignation of retired Maj.-Gen. Muhammad Idris, the Commissioner for Internal Security and Special Services.

This was announced in a statement released by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Tofa, on Wednesday in Kano.

No specific reason was provided for Maj.-Gen. Idris’s sudden resignation.

Governor Yusuf expressed appreciation for Idris’s contributions, particularly highlighting his significant role during the early stages of the ministry’s establishment.

Idris, a retired army general, had served in his role since August 2024.

The governor also extended good wishes to Idris, commending his dedication, patriotism, and service to the public, while wishing him a peaceful retirement.

Maj.-Gen. Idris’s departure follows the earlier resignation of Mohammed Diggol, the Commissioner for Project Monitoring and Evaluation, who left his position on January 5.
