The Kano State Police Command has prohibited all Durbar celebrations during the 2025 Eid-El-Fitr Sallah festivities due to security concerns.
The announcement was made by Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Bakori, during a press conference held at the Bompai Police Headquarters on Friday.
Bakori explained that the decision aims to ensure safety, maintain public order, and create a secure environment for the celebrations.
He further assured that sufficient security arrangements had been implemented to safeguard worshippers at all designated Eid prayer locations.
“As we celebrate, let us remember that peace is paramount. We must put aside our differences and work together as law-abiding citizens for the progress of our state and nation,” Bakori stated.
Additionally, Bakori reiterated the ban on horse riding (Kilisa), car racing, and reckless driving throughout the festive period.
