The Kano State Police Command has increased security across the state as Ramadan approaches its last ten days, which are marked by increased religious activities and active economic activities.
CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, has ordered police to increase security around places of worship, markets, and other public areas to guarantee the safety of citizens.
Following a security briefing with Tactical Commanders, Area Commanders, and Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa stated that the CP focused on community policing in evading crime and keeping peace.
“The Commissioner of Police has directed officers to enhance their presence across the state, build trust with community members, and uphold the highest standards of integrity and professionalism,” SP Kiyawa stated.
He further noted that CP Bakori reaffirmed the Command’s zero-tolerance policy towards corruption and stressed the need for officers to respect human rights in all operations.
“The CP has reminded officers of the importance of conducting their duties with dignity and justice for all. He has also assured them of his full support in their efforts to safeguard lives and property,” SP Kiyawa added.
Residents are urged to cooperate with security personnel and report any suspicious activities as the Command works to ensure a peaceful and secure environment during this critical period of Ramadan.
