The Kano State Police Command has uncovered a mini truck transporting six massive bales of suspected tramadol tablets hidden beneath bags of cement, with the haul valued at over N150 million on the street.
This was disclosed in a post shared on Monday by security expert Zagazola Makama.
As detailed in the report, the interception happened during a sting operation carried out in Alharini village, located in Ungogo Local Government Area of Kano.
Makama explained that although the truck appeared to be carrying cement, a detailed inspection by officers exposed the smuggled drugs. Two individuals were taken into custody in connection with the illegal consignment.
The suspects have been identified as Imrana Rabiu, a truck driver from Bene town in Kebbi State, and Muntari Shuaibu, who hails from Kofar Gabas in Babura Local Government Area of Jigawa State.
According to police sources, the operation forms part of the command’s wider crackdown on drug smuggling and related criminal activities within the state.
They added that the command remains committed to working closely with other security agencies to eliminate crime in Kano.
