The Police Command in Katsina State thwarted an armed bandit’s bid to kidnap, rescued the abducted people intact, and reclaimed 94 rustled cattle in Faskari Local Government Area.
The operation, DSP Public Relations Officer Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu stated, was led by Commissioner of Police Aliyu Abubakar Musa.
At 1:00 a.m. on March 12, 2025, Unguwar Sarkin Fulani Dutsen Dadi along Tafoki Village was invaded by armed bandits. The intruders kidnapped villagers and stole goats, two cows, and ninety-two sheep.
When the news reached them, Faskari’s Divisional Police Officer (DPO) dispatched a patrol team to the location. The robbers were caught unaware by the police, who attacked them with gun fire and sent them fleeing in terror with seriously injured. The kidnapped persons were rescued without harm, and the rustled animals were recovered.
The police have intensified their operations to capture the fleeing persons, as investigations continue.
CP Aliyu Abubakar Musa praised his officers’ bravery and professionalism, and called on the citizens to befriend the police by providing timely and correct information as part of the drive to deal with crime effectively.
